About the Journal

The Ethiopian Renaissance Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (ERJSSH) is an interdisciplinary and erudite arm of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Gondar, North West Ethiopia. Established in 2014, the ERJSSH aims at providing a platform for scholars to share original, open-access, peer-reviewed research that explores human society and culture.  The Ethiopian Renaissance Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (ERJSSH) is a biannual, double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the University of Gondar with the objective of entertaining contributions from a wide range of disciplines within the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities.  This journal features scholarly articles, reviews, and research synopses in both English and Amharic languages.

Articles published in the ERJSSH often inform public policy, educational reform, cultural preservation, and social development programs. By exploring themes like identity, tradition, globalization and social change, the ERJSSH helps deepen pervasive understanding of diverse cultures and human experiences. In effect, this journal is not just an academic repository—but—it is a scholarly wing that serves as an engine for social reflection, innovation, and transformation.
